The Great Oaks Federation

School To School Support

The Great Oaks Federation is committed to sector-led school improvement and recognises its responsibilities to all children not just those that attend its schools. We are open and welcoming of all forms of collaboration as a vehicle to upskilling and developing our staff, promoting wider pupil engagement and engaging with our community.

We are more than happy to provide support to other schools in any way we can either through a reciprocal arrangement or through commissioned school improvement work. We have a large and talented staff including six Specialist Leaders of Education, two Local Leaders of Education and a Local Leader of Governance. If your school is looking for curriculum or leadership support please do get in touch with the Connect Teaching School Alliance via enquiries@connect-tsa.net  or by phone on 01205 312153. Pen portraits of our designated staff are available below.

We are currently involved in two large scale projects that are underway across the county:
-The Mobilise project focusing on meta-cognition and the benefits of spaced learning for pupils.
-Lincolnshire English Attainment Project looking at improving English for our most disadvantaged pupils.

The federation also works within a local cluster of schools for Peer Review and moderation which includes Boston West Academy, Tower Road Academy, Boston St Nicholas' Primary and Bourne Westfield Academy. The cluster work collaboratively to improve the quality of teaching and learning and outcomes for all our pupils.

We are members of the Connect Teaching School Alliance through which a number of our SLE's/LLEs are designated. We support with the Connect ITT program including the training of elements of the course as well as hosting our own students.

We are committed to supporting the wider sector and our Executive Headteacher currently sits on a number of boards and forums including the Connect TSA strategy board, the Lincolnshire Learning Partnership Board and the Lincolnshire Schools Forum.
