Kenning Poems

To start off Term 5 we have been exploring Kenning poems in English.

The children have throughly enjoyed exploring, planning and performing their very own kenning poems. We combined our knowledge of suffixes and word classes to change verbs into nouns for our poems.

The children are seen below exploring lots of different kenning poems.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely Easter break and are excited for the last two terms.

This term the children will be having PE on a Tuesday and a Wednesday.

Please make sure that long hair is tied back and that trainers are in school ready for outdoor PE.

Hindu artefacts

On Friday, the children explored a vast amount of Hindu artefacts through photographs.

The children began by exploring the photos and distinguishing what the objects were and how they thought they might be used in worship. We then began to unpick the purpose of the artefacts and why they are important. The children then created a non - chronological report on a few Hindu artefacts, observing and drawing them before explaining their purpose.

Last week activities!

This week we have explored how to create a compass using magnets and we have looked at tenths in Maths. We used our knowledge of dividing strategies to help us when dividing our paper into tenths, We then used our fraction knowledge to discuss the layout of a compass, and how many points it has.
